The St. Catharines Museum and Welland Canal Centre will flush convention down the toilet with this new exhibit.
Sitting Pretty, a traveling exhibit produced by the Guelph Museums, lets visitors get a handle on toilet lore with an interactive quiz, the history of outhouses – complete with an audio program of outhouse stories, and sections about toilet paper, chamber pots, the flush toilet and the public washroom.
Highlights include a collection of chamberpots, one with a silencer, a reconstructed outhouse and an actual flushing toilet.
The Museum will also be displaying a selection of items relating to toilets, from its own collection.
