Police Charge Niagara Falls Youth With Fraud

The Niagara Regional Police Service have laid fraud charges against a young offender, in relation to the distribution and selling of counterfeit water park passes in the City of Niagara Falls.

The youth, who cannot be named under provisions of The Youth Criminal Justice Act, sold numerous counterfeit passes to unsuspecting victims in early December 2007. The passes were then tendered by the unsuspecting recipients, which prompted calls to police.

Police have charged the youth with one count of fraud under $5000.00, and one count of uttering a forged document. The youth was released from custody to appear in court at a later date.

Police suspect there may be other victims who have yet to come forward. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to call the Niagara Regional Police Service at 905 688-4111 Extension 2283.
