Niagara Car Seat Clinic

Motor vehicle collisions are the number one cause of death for Canadian children. A properly installed child safety seat can reduce the risk of serious injury or death by as much as 75%. The Ministry of Transportation estimates that over 80% of child safety seats checked at car seat clinics are not properly installed.

On October 18, 2008 from noon until 2:00 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, in conjunction with St. John Ambulance, St. Catharines Community Policing Committee, and 105.1 The River will be hosting a car seat clinic at Pennzoil 10-minute oil change centre at 8214 Lundy’s Lane in Niagara Falls.

This is a free clinic, open to the public, and is designed to check and properly install car seats for infants to children 8 years of age, as well as offer information on car seats, and the laws that govern their use in the province.

By having your car seat inspected and properly installed you dramatically increase your child’s safety and likelihood they will not be injured or killed in a collision.

  1. THANK YOU for your post and for offering your two cents. We agree that parents need to have access to safety for their children. It isn’t something that you should have to fight for or hunt down.

I understand that it is a law in Canada to use the anchor straps for the car seats. Am I correct? I feel that the law should be here in the US also. Maybe its not because not all cars have anchors for the straps.

I feel as though your children’s safety should not be taken lightly. You are there to make sure they are as safe as they can be since they are not capable of doing it themselves.

I am all about car safety. I think that it is a step that you must take to try and protect your lives as well as your kids life, BEFORE something happens. Don’t take precious things for granted!

If your kids seats have the straps then use them if your car has the anchors.
