At about 7:30 p.m. Tuesday Night, a blaze broke out at 210 Welland Ave., a house bearing the sign R & F Metals Inc. The sign says the company is a dealer in scrap iron and metal.

St. Catharines fire department said neighbours told them an older man lived in the building. Fire crews could find no evidence of the man inside as they combed the smoked-out building.
