Fort Erie Stabbing

NRPS Media Release

On Saturday, November 10, 2007 at 7:38 am, the Niagara Regional Police responded to the Douglas Memorial Hospital, after being notified that they were treating a woman for a stab wound. Uniform officers arrived and located a 27 yr. old Fort Erie resident suffering from a stab wound to her back. Detectives from #5 District, began an investigation as the victim was uncooperative with police.

Information was learned that the female had an argument with her boyfriend, at an address on Forsythe St. during the night. As a result of that argument, the victim was stabbed in the back area.

The victim was treated at the Douglas Memorial Hospital and later transferred to the St. Catharines General hospital for further treatment. The injuries are not considered life threatening.

Uniform Officers located the suspect while at work in Niagara Falls and arrested him.

Charged is Volvick LOUISIUS, 32 yrs. of Niagara Falls, with Aggravated Assault and Assault with a Weapon. He was held in custody, pending the outcome of a Bail Hearing on November 11, 2007 in St. Catharines.
