You could write a book about Prudhommes. Most of my teenage summers were spent working there. I remember the place before the first big fire (where one person died). Over the years, a lot of characters went through that place: from the famous to some pretty colorful or dangerous folks. I remember when the head of Satan's Choice (Mother) had his wedding party there. Satan's Choice was pretty tame compared to the other "guests" of the hotel who would hit on underage kids hanging around the place. That place was a magnet for people from all around to come do their thing. It has been a freaky place since the 70s. You have to give old man Prudhomme credit for building a real scene there in essentially the middle of nowhere.

Was just at Prudhommes Landing last weekend. Got some fresh pics of it. Aside from the foundations from a few buildings, the skating rink and go-kart track all you'll find is the pumphouse for the wavepool and one water slide with a huge chunk of the mountain missing.

Here's some recent pics:

Hi Ray,
I have fond memories of that house as a kid leaving with the wits scared out of me. I always wondered the history, such as builder, owner, family heritage... Any info and especially pic's would be wonderful. Thanks!

Just snapped some pix there. May 8th 2009. There's not much left of it. The photos posted at least had some of the blue water slide left. All but a couple random pieces are gone. The tube slide however is still there. You can still make out the wave pool but every pool and the bumper boat pool are all filled in. In fact, unless you know where to look, the bumper boat pool has disappeared. Sad to see it go. It's very over grown . It's hard to believe that it's only been gone for 8 or 9 years. It looks like it's been gone for 20. You can't even tell the old haunted house was ever there. I saw no trace of it.I saw the beach from the top of the slide. It's very nice. I wish I owned it!
