Cool, the video I posted as user "Zzznorch" on YouTube! I appreciate the support. The camera was broken from May 11, 2005 to May 16, 2005. It wasn't until the 14th that I actually thought to capture the images every three minutes as they were updated and assemble them as a video. This video was the most interesting of the three days. I should post a video of the 16th when the camera was fixed. It was pointed at the bridge and suddenly started getting moved around. At one point the repair tech can be seen in the pictures. I wrote to the MTO to tell them how much I enjoyed the view for the days it was broken. I got a nice response back:

"I'm glad you enjoyed the view while the Skywest traffic camera's pan and
tilt was inoperative. The COMPASS cameras are controlled dynamically
through ministry operators. As you were able to observe, images vary
depending on camera positions."

It is hard to believe it has been five years since the camera was broken. I had hoped that someday someone might think to add a webcam at this location in order to duplicate this view. The view of the bridge and the Welland Canal is very interesting.

And correct me if I'm wrong in noting where the draw span in question opened no less than five times while the camera was running....
