I was excited to see that Canadian Gardening magazine is running an online contest dubbed “So You Think You Can Garden” on their online site canadiangardening.com. Upon further investigation I learned that the prize is $500 and a requirement to blog on their site once a week for 6 months. This sounds like a minimum salary job and not a contest.
Today is the last day to cast your vote to have Niagara Falls added to the latest Canadian edition of Monopoly. Don’t let a city like Kenora (formally named as the City of Rat Portage) be voted in instead of Niagara Falls. Vote here: www.monopolyvote.ca/en_CA/world
Congratulations to the Niagara Parks Culinary Team for bringing home their third consecutive People’s Choice Award at the 6th Annual Mayor and Council’s Chili Cook-off today at the Optimist Hall in Niagara Falls, Ontario. The winning recipe was created by Mike Deroche of Edgewaters Tap & Grill.
I won’t argue that Cornwall has a magnificent water tower; that Beauceville has delicious poutine; and I’m sure Kenora (formally named Rat Portage) is actually very nice; but is it possible that these cities will be added to Monopoly Canadian Edition instead of Niagara Falls?
When we first posted about the vote, Niagara Falls moved to second place behind Banff, and was positioned to take one of the two available spots. There are only 22 days left to spread the word to all your friends to nominate Niagara Falls. Spread the word with Facebook and Twitter!
To vote enter “Niagara Falls, Ontario, CA” in the nominate box on this page: www.monopolyvote.ca/en_CA/world (note: Firefox may not work properly)
For the firs time ever the public will be able to decide what cities are to be included in the Monopoly, Canadian Edition. Surprisingly, Niagara Falls is not on the list of preselected cities. So, the only way to have Niagara Falls added is for everyone to vote for 2 wild-card spots. The city with the most votes will occupy the coveted ‘Boardwalk’ spot.

The story can be anything under the sun as long as it’s related to a past travel experience anywhere in the world.
Please keep your stories to the point. If you ramble on about boring details that really have nothing to do with the actual story, your comment will either be shortened or disqualified altogether.
The administrators will select 3 of their favourite stories and put them up for a vote to all users. Take a look at our Stupid Questions Contest to see how this voting system worked for us in the past.
Write your stories in the comment section of this posting.
Must provide your real name and email address so we can contact you if needed.

Your vote can only be counted once. We will review the results in 24 hours from now and at that time the winner will be contacted. Good luck to those in the final 3.

If you have ever worked in tourism anywhere near Niagara Falls Ontario, you have heard your fair share of stupid questions. The most common ones are “What time does the falls shut off?”, “Are we in Canada yet?” & “How far into Canada do I have to go before we have to drive on the other side of the road?” There are hundreds of stories out there, involving tourists, and I would like to compile a list of them.
