A Christmas Story Shot At Local School

Scene from the movie

As it looks today from roughly the same spot

I know the above photo is a bad one, it was taken from a moving car. Notice the new street that goes through the playground area.
The Victoria School which sits on Niagara Street in St.Catharines has been abandoned for many years. During recent renovations, movie fan Tyler Schwartz found the blackboard in a dumpster at the school. The chalkboard is the latest addition to a museum in Cleveland dedicated to the 1983 film.

Nice one! I watch this film every year ’round this time. That and the Emmet Otter’s Jugband Christmas Special. Thanks for this post. That’s outstanding that the chalkboard was found…now if I could only get my hands on that LAMP! :)

-FYI. there never was any post/flagpole there. they brought it in for the movie. the scene from the movie actually took place in the back corner of the field beside one of the baseball diamonds. a little further back then the recent photo that is shown.
Also, the RedRider BBgun is at the st. catharines museum.
